About Letterstroke
Letterstroke shows how a word is written. Type any Arabic or Malayalam word and watch it written stroke by stroke, in the right order, the way a teacher writes on the board.
Why it exists
Children learning a new script need to see the movement of the pen, not just the finished letter: where to start, which way to go, when to lift the pen, and how letters change shape when they join. Printed charts can't show that. Letterstroke does, for any word you choose — the week's spelling words, a child's name, a word from a story.
What it shows
- The handwriting animation, with each letter in its own colour and a speed you can slow down.
- The word split into the pieces a child writes and reads, and its reading in Latin letters.
- For Arabic: each letter's form (isolated, initial, medial, final), vowel marks and reading rules such as sun and moon letters.
- For Malayalam: each akshara, its vowel sign and where the sign sits, chillu letters and joined consonants.
Who it is for
Children learning to write, the parents helping them at home, and teachers preparing lessons and slides. It is free to use.
